Zhongchang Marine Shipping Co., Ltd is a marine transportation enterprise jointly established by plural investment subject like Shanghai Sansheng Hongye Investment (Group) Co., Ltd. It has been listed for trading on A board of Shanghai Stock Exchange as the sole private marine shipping company of mainland of China.
The company was established in 1993 and in August 2010, it was successfully listed on A board stock market approved by China Securities Regulatory Commission, with stock code 600242.
The company currently mainly engage in freight transportation between harbors of domestic coastal areas and the middle and lower reaches of Changjiang River, as well as marine transportation relative businesses like logistic agency, ship chartering and seamen management. Until the end of 2010, the company owns nine bulk freighters named “Zhongchang 28”,”Zhongchang 58”,”Zhongchang 68”,”Zhongchang 88”,”Zhongchang 118”,”Zhongchang 128”,”Zhongchang 168”,”Zhongchang 228” and “Zhongchang 258”, with a capacity of nearly 360,000 tons. In October 2010 the company has newly signed a contract to build two 47,500 tons bulk freighters, which would be put into use in 2012 hence increase the total capacity of the company up to 500,000 tons. The total assets value of the company reaches nearly two billion Yuan. As a dry bulk shipping company that firstly implement National Security Management Code in Zhejiang Province, Zhongchang Marine Shipping Co., Ltd ranks first in Zhoushan City and first three places in Zhejiang Province and on top list of China private bulk shipping enterprises on total capacity.
At present the company has multiple holding subsidiaries named Zhoushan Zhongchang Marine Shipping Co., Ltd, Shengsi Zhongchang Marine Shipping Co., Ltd, Yangxi Zhongchang Marine Shipping Co., Ltd, Zhoushan Putuo Zhongchang Marine Shipping Co., Ltd, Zhongchang Shipping Service (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd, Zhoushan Zhongchang Seamen Management Co., Ltd, Zhongchang Marine Shipping (Shanghai) Co., Ltd (in preparation) and it has participated Zhejiang Zheneng Zhongmei Coal Energy Co., Ltd. The business of the company covers Changjiang Delta, Pearl Delta and promotes forward steadily to the global.
